When you find yourself in Coronado looking for that perfect date spot, but you have no idea what to do or what to plan for your loved one, you’re in the right place. With this blog, we hope to give you ideas and information on places that you can go to treat your significant other to a good time.
#5 – Clayton’s Coffee Shop
Once you step foot into Clayton’s Coffee Shop, you’ll be transported to the 1940s. This is the only original horseshoe counter eatery remaining in San Diego County. You and your loved one can dine in one of their vintage booths to really get a feel for the times. Enjoy the countertop jukeboxes along with their delicious “eats” to complete the nostalgic experience of dining in one of the very few authentic classic American diners.
#4 – Il Fornaio
Once you step inside Il Fornaio and take an award-winning culinary journey through Italy, you will be amazed. Their specialties include house-made pasta, wood-fired pizza, grilled fish, authentic risotto, and rotisserie meats. They pride themselves on using the freshest ingredients and traditional cooking techniques. They have an event coordinator on-site to handle all of your needs because Il Fornaio is the perfect location for special events like celebrations, anniversaries, and weddings.
#3 – Wine A Bit
From the moment you walk into Wine A Bit, your unique wine experience begins. The wine bar features a large selection of wines by the glass, along with appetizers and flatbreads. If you aren’t a wine drinker, they offer over 20 craft beers by the glass, as well. As you explore Wine A Bit, you’ll find yourself carried away to an Old World wine cellar that is surrounded by a selection of fine boutique wines from around the world. The great thing about this place is that there is nothing pretentious about the wine bar, and the owners Patti and Dale want to provide a relaxing environment for wine lovers of all kinds to sit down and enjoy a glass.
#2 – The Coronado Playhouse
Here, you can catch a show at the oldest and longest continuously running community theater in San Diego. This quaint theater has been around since 1946 and offers some great entertainment. Located right on the beach, you can take a romantic stroll before or after viewing a great show.
#1 – The Gondola Company
The Gondola Company is your ticket to Italy, or at least they do a good job at making it seem so. Here you can indulge in the tradition of Venice while still being located in San Diego as you cruise in a private gondola through the beautiful canals of the Coronado Cays. Each cruise is a memorable experience, so this is definitely a great activity to do for a date.
We hope that you have enough ideas to get you started on your journey to impressing your date.
